The curator behind every story

Living Images Design’s founder, Claire Hughes, is a designer and visual storyteller with a particular gift for bringing order, meaning and beauty to personal collections.

Claire Hughes Founder Living Images Design

For more than twelve years, Claire has created bespoke albums for clients both close to home and much further afield.

Educated at St George’s, Ascot, with a degree in Graphic Design, Claire’s eye has been shaped by a lifelong interest in image, composition and story, and by a professional world that has moved through design, photography, film and art direction.

Claire recognises what matters, what belongs and how each moment should sit within the wider story. With a designer’s sense of balance and an editor’s instinct for sequence, she creates albums that feel considered and balanced.

That same curatorial care extends to the making of each album. Claire has carefully sought out specialist British craftspeople whose skill, materials and hand-finishing meet the standard her work requires.

Why physical books matter

In a world of seemingly endless images and instant exchange, there is a quiet power in something made slowly, by hand and with intention. Curated with care, made by hand and finished in exquisite materials, it becomes more than a record: it becomes an heirloom, an antidote to the speed and saturation of the online world.
