Every project is unique

Some clients arrive with carefully organised archives. Others bring a box of photographs, a collection of letters or the feeling that a story should be gathered before it slips further out of reach. Claire’s role is to bring calm, clarity and shape to the process. Each commission is approached personally, with as much guidance and collaboration as the client requires.

TRUST

Discretion is at the heart of every Living Images project. Before any album begins, there is a conversation. It may be about a family, a journey, a holiday, a life, a celebration or a professional milestone. It may involve photographs, letters, private correspondence, sensitive memories or material that is not intended for public view.

Claire takes time to understand the nature of the project, who it is for and what the finished album should hold. Every detail is handled with care and judgement, non-disclosure agreements are welcomed where required.

GATHER

The material can arrive in many forms: digital libraries, photographs, letters, emails, press cuttings, ticket stubs, handwritten notes, artwork or carefully kept fragments from a life or occasion.

Some collections are already edited. Others need to be sorted and refined. Where helpful, Claire can liaise with family members, PAs, colleagues or teams to gather what is needed and make the process feel straightforward. More extensive archives can be carefully reviewed, edited and brought into shape as part of a fuller curatorial process.

CURATE

This is where the story begins to take form. Claire edits, sequences and refines the material, curating how each image sits within the wider story.

Where older photographs need gentle restoration or enhancement, they are treated with sensitivity, preserving their character while allowing the image to reflect the quality of the finished piece.

The aim is an album that feels natural, beautiful and unique.

CREATE

Once the direction is established, the album is designed and prepared for review. Digital proofs are shared, allowing each spread to be considered and commented on. Revisions are then made before the final version is approved.

Choices around size, cover materials, colour, finish and presentation are brought together. The album is made by specialist British craftspeople chosen by Claire for the quality of their materials, skill and hand-finishing.

Every album is bespoke

Each Living Images album is created individually, with the scale and level of curation shaped around the project. Some commissions are intimate and focused. Others involve larger archives, multiple contributors or more detailed editorial work.

Once the material has been gathered and curated, Claire prepares a first proof for approval, usually within one week. Once approved, the finished album is created and delivered in approximately two weeks.

DELIVER

Where a story is to be shared more widely, duplicate albums can be created in the same size or as smaller keepsake editions, from family gifts and thank-you presents to colleague mementos, client presentation copies and considered gifts for those who already have everything.

Optional presentation boxes, handcrafted to complement the album, provide an elegant way to protect and present the finished piece.  Delivery is handled with the same care as the album itself. Claire offers personal delivery in London where possible, with trusted courier arrangements for clients elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
